Moki Canyon

Moki Canyon is a frequently visited canyon in the north end of Lake Powell. With easy access for boaters near the Bullfrog Marina and Halls Crossing Marina area, it makes for an easy side trip. The draw of Moki Canyon is the number of ancient ruins, good hiking, and its sand mountain. The best hikes are located at the end of the canyon – when you reach canyon’s south end you can explore upstream for many miles and eventually leads to Mancos Mesa wilderness. The famed “Sand Mountain” is a large sand hill located on the south end of the canyon near its end – water levels determine boat or hiking access.
